Genetic variability and association of economic characters in red fleshed dioecious lines in papaya (Carica papaya L.)

摘要

Phenotypic and genotypic coefficient of variability estimated for the economic traits in red fruited BC_3F_1 population of papaya showed that PCV and GCV were higher with fruit number and yield per plant. Heritability and genetic advance for these traits were also high. Correlation and path analysis indicated that single plant selection should be based on yield per plant, fruit weight and number of fruits in red fleshed papaya population.
