Management of powdery mildew disease of bhendi (Abelmoschus esculentus L.)

Powdery mildew disease of bhendi caused by Erysiphe cichoracearum DC is prevalent throughout the bhendi growing areas of Tamil Nadu. The yield losses caused by this disease is varying from 17,0 to 86.6 per cent. No source of complete resistance to powdery mildew is available in the cultivated bhendi (2). Therefore, to study the effectiveness of certain fungicides and plant products on the management of powdery mildew an experiment was conducted.
