How your cotton makes the grade

IN almost 100 years of use, the number of U.S. cotton standards has increased, and certainly so has the speed of classing cotton. In 1909, the first "official U.S. cotton standards" were established as a result of an international cotton group meeting in Atlanta in 1907. The group passed a resolution calling for uniform cotton standards that would, among other things, make farmers aware of their fiber quality.
