We developed a 2.5kW rectifier in conformity with the Class A domestic guideline to make a series with the 5kW rectifier. For the circuit system, we adopted a 2-converter system using a soft switching type 3-phase bridge boost chopper as the power factor-correction portion and a soft switching type full bridge converter as the DC/DC converter portion. As the main switch, FET and B-SIT were adopted for the boost chopper and DC/DC converter, respectively, to increase efficiency. By adopting circuit blocks and separating parts, most of the circuit parts were mounted on the board and wiring-less was promoted. Also compactness of the rectifier unit was realized by using surface-mounted parts for the control circuit. By using these technologies, this rectifier unit realized outside dimensions of 170(W)×298(H)×350(D), a power factor of 0.99 or higher, and efficiency of about 93%.
