This railing was fabricated for a 14,000 square foot Tuscan-style mansion. A local builder of high-end houses, whom I'd worked with before, asked for a bid based on a railing the client saw in a magazine. I obliged but modified the price because forged work is generally unknown in this area, and its cost makes it difficult to sell. The house is a showpiece, intended to promote additional work. I hoped it would also promote forged metalwork for my own potential clients.
