Sulfur-carbon composites were investigated as positive electrode materials for all-solid-state lithium ion batteries with an inorganic solid electrolyte (amorphous Li_3PS_4). The elemental sulfur was mixed with Vapor-Grown Carbon Fiber (VGCF) andwith the solid electrolyte (amorphous Li_3PS_4) by using high-energy ball-milling process. The obtained sulfur-VGVF-solid electrolyte composite was used as positive electrode materials of the all-solidstate battery. The composite showed good electrochemical properties as positive electrodematerials. The capacity that was calculated on the base of the weight of sulfur was about 1300 mAhg~(-1) at room temperature, when the all-solid-state battery was discharged and charged in the voltage range of 0.9 to 2.6 V at a constant current density of 0.1 mAcm~(-2). The battery kept the capacity more than 1200 mAhg~(-1) even after 50 discharge-charge cycles.
