Scottish sheep breeders have been urged to record the performance of their lambs to speed up the genetic improvement of the national sheep flock. Performance recording was simply a means of disentangling genetics and management, SAC geneticist, Prof Geoff Simm, told producers attending the annual meeting in Edinburgh of the Scottish Region of the National Sheep Association.
