'Poke' welding guns aid aircraft production

A total of six B12 consoles and PG2 'poke' welding guns have been supplied to Randtech Ltd, a distributor of specialized welding equipment, by Portable Welders of Bicester, and will be used by a company involved in the aircraft industry to weld components prior to vacuum brazing.The B12 console is a 5kVA unit, designed for use on 240V supplies and is fitted with a synchronous integrated circuit timer which allows work on materials as thin as 0.05mm. The timer features 0-15 cycle ' squeeze cool' time, 0-15 cycle 'weld' time with Y2 cycle, normal and x3 weld selector and a 40-100 percent phase shift heat control. The B12 also has a tap switch on the transformer allowing a precise control over a wider range of welding currents.
