There is debate surrounding the true understanding of qualifications, titles and capabilities of graduates in the food industry when being employed. Larry Dolley and Jessy Van Wyk shed some light on a few of these concerns. THE debate around descriptions and key performance areas of graduates in the food industry has created areas for concern and confusion in a number of different auarters including academics involved in training students, personnel involved in academic or commercial placement, the industries looking to employ such graduates and, finally, in the minds of graduates from a range of different, yet related, disciplines.
