Wool Prices On The Increase

Are we about to enter a new era for wool? It's a question that sheep farmers and the wool trade have long been asking but recent months have seen a significant improvement in the price of wool and a much keener demand from the trade - both underpinnedby the launch of a new initiative to promote wool to consumers. The Wool Project - launched by HRH The Prince of Wales in January and discussed in detail elsewhere in this issue - has a remit to instigate a new impetus to the promotion of wool and bring its natural and sustainable qualities to the attention of textile buyers, retailers and ultimately the consumer.
