EU Regulation No 143/2011 amends the Reach Regulation (EC Regulation No 1907/2006) to add six substances to Annex XIV of the Regulation, as they meet the criteria for classification as carcinogenic, mutagenic and toxic for reproduction or are persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) and as such are subject to authorisation (SHE9885). These substances are: musk xylene, 4,4'-diaminodiphenylmethane, hexabromocyclododecane (HBCDD), bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate, benzylbutyl phthalate and dibutyl phthalate. The latest application date for authorisation for these substances is 21 January 2013 with a sunset date 18 months later of 21 July 2014; except for HBCDD, for which the respective dates are the 21 January 2014 and 21 July 2015.
