Time to Reflect and Assess: Nick Davies - Head Shepherd, Brakes Farm, Downton Estate

It has been a busy time over the past five weeks with only 180 of the 3000 ewes left to lamb (10.04.08). What a task with several days of lambing over 300, this really does test the brain matter and makes you think how do we all manage this time of year. This made me reflect a little when taking a moment in the shed and pausing to think to myself what this year, out of the five years at Downton, has made a difference to the whole approach in the way we farm.
