摘要

Commentators discussing anticipated effects of global warming tend to focus on rising sea levels, 'extreme weather' and the impact on agriculture. Climate change will also affect the distribution of infectious diseases, introducing new threats to animal and human health, and changing the impact of old threats. At present we can't predict with any confidence how individual diseases will respond to changing conditions. The University of Liverpool is working to develop the sophisticated quantitative models ivhich will give IMS this ability.
