Bracken: Aspects of control, curtailment, eradication and maintenance

Bracken is an expanding weed fern found on some 2 million hectares of the British Isles, a particular scourge in western and upland regions. It competes and encroaches on heather moorland and upland grazing destroying grazing land and sporting values. It is aggressively expanding, seeking more fertile ground and moving into lower enclosed fields from the often heavily infested non-enclosed land.
