EFSA to review ANSES reports on Bisphenol A

The European Commission has asked the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to review two reports on bisphenol A (BPA) following their publication by the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES). In particular, in response to the findings in these new reports, EFSA needs to assess any possible implications to its previous scientific advice issued on BPA in September 2010 (see SHE9725). EFSA then needs to submit its conclusions to the European Commission by the end of November 2011.
