Lead renovation, painting and repair, proposal to bring back opt-out rule

Responding to concerns from the US National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Representatives John Sullivan and Tim Murphy introduced legislation before the House that would reinstate certain opt-out provisions of the Lead Renovation, Repair and Painting (LRRP) Rule. H.R.5911, the Lead Exposure Reduction Amendments Act of 2012 would restore the opt-out provision for renovation work conducted in homes built before 1978 where no children younger than six years old or pregnant women live or are expected to live.
