INVENTOR, passionate researcher,doyen of industry, grandfather of the soap industry - these are just some of the many sobriquets used to describe BurjorPirojsha Godrej (1915-1994). The second son of Pirojsha Godrej, co-founder of our Group, he was known for his enquiring mind and commitment to research. "I have a vivid recollection of BPG," says Prof M.M. Sharma of Mumbai's prestigious University Department of Chemical Technology (now known as the Institute of Chemical Technology). "His interest in technology was so deep that he would sacrifice business interest for research."
