Italian C&T picks up in second half of 2010

The Italian cosmetics industry has reported a dynamic second half of 2010 with business sustained by a significant pick-up in exports, the continuation of consumer purchasing through pharmacies and good growth in sales via herbalist enterprises. Sales at the end of 2010 reached ?9.3bn after an overall rise of about 1.3%. The pharmacy sales sector grew by an average 2.9% in value and 5% in volume with an end-of-year sales figure of ?1.5bn.
