Institut Tres Bien took first prize at the first Beauty Challenger Awards,held during this year's Cosmeeting exhibition in Paris last month.The awards acknowledge innovation and best practices in the niche sector.As Jean-Pierre Lavigne said at the awards:"There is luxury to be found in niche brands.You don't need to be present In 2500 doors in order to innovate."The original Institut Tres Bien was a beauty salon in Lyon in the 1930s,frequented by the grandmother of Frederic Burtin.Burtin had been working in product development as a chemist and biologist with the likes of Dior,Guerlain and Givency for 15 years.Tracing the history of the Institut through letters,Burtin found the original Cologne a la Russe formula and decided to take a chance.
