The synthetic fragrance musk ketone has been correctly declared a carcinogen with the same potential dangers to consumers as musk xylene,a European Commission committee has concluded.That said,its scientific committee on health and environmental risks says the official status of musk ketone "as a 'category three carcinogen should be revisited" after proper scientific studies have been carried out.
