Avoiding controversy

In November 2015, the Scandinavian Society of Cosmetic Chemists had the preservation of cosmetic products as the theme for its annual conference. The subject is one that always generates lots of interest within the industry as marketing briefs ask that controversial preservatives be avoided and formulators try to provide products that meet the requirements of the preservation efficacy test while complying with current legislation.
