An international cosmetics regulatory advisor has warned the European cosmetics industry that it faces another significant period of compliance with new European Union (EU) regulation. However, she cold SPC in an exclusive interview that such laws offer the sector opportunities as well as costs. Dr Annelie Struessmann, the Technical Regulatory Director at Germany-based CONUSBAT, which supports companies from the cosmetics and toiletries sector in internationalising their businesses, said companies needed to especially deal with controls on animal tests, cosmetovigilance, biocides and counterfeiting.
