Selected oxygen-related processes in soil are reviewed with regard to different soil management and tillage systems. The processes under consideration comprise gas transport in the atmosphere-plant-soil continuum, soil air composition, redox transformations under anoxic conditions and environmental consequences such as emission of trace greenhouse gases.
