Beauty supplements, foods and beverages are not a new concept, but globally it seems the industry is still waiting for consumers to tuck into the plethora of options available. According to Euromonitor International, the total nutricosmetics market was worth $4.5bn in 2012, with a substantial $3.3bn of this coming from Asia Pacific. Indeed, Japan alone accounted for S1.7bn — which is more than twice that of the whole of western Europe.
