First described in the 1980s by Dr Albert Kligman,professor of dermatology at the Pennsylvania school of Medicine,cosmeceuticals are essentially hybrids of a cosmetic and a pharmaceutical.According to Kligman:"Today there are over 20,000 formulations that can fall under the anti-ageing umbrella,and the number of ingredients in each product has consistently risen."
