CEN Networking visited Professor Beckervordersandforth in the headquarters of Ruhrgas, Essen, DE; we talked first about gas supply and standards, and then CEN.What is the proportion of primary energy consumption supplied by natural gas?In Germany currently about 21 percent, set to rise to 28 percent by 2020.Can we have an idea of the technical standards Ruhrgas uses?We have our own standards and use those of the association DVGW (Deutsche Vereinigung des Gas- und Wasserfaches) as well as DIN, ISO standards and those of CEN and OIML. And now, of course, we have standards from CEN Technical Committee 234 for gas distribution.
