The adoption of the EU Directive 98/8/ EU,(1) commonly called Biocide Directive,on the placing of biocidal products on the market,was triggered by some spectacular accidents with hazardous chemicals during the 1980s and earlier.Severe incidents called for this change in dealing and handling hazardous substances.
