The Indian Cashew industry is one of the prominent agro-based industries in the country. The raw material for the industry is the raw cashew nut. With the suitable climatic and soil conditions in our country, there is tremendous scope for increasing cashew production, which will generate additional employment opportunities as well as monetary benefits for the farmer. Earlier cashew was processed only for export, but now a days the situation has changed. Indian consumption has increased considerably.India is emerging as the largest consumer of cashew kernels in the world. Increased production, though not reflected in terms of increased exports, will definitely boost internal consumption. Increase in production always enhances job opportunities.
