DNA-binding and -damaging agents often derive their sequence selectivity from a finite set of specific contacts between the molecule of interest and select nucleotides.Many such agents are of great interest due to their medicinally useful properties,although for many of these substances,it remains unclear that all relevant mechanisms of action have been fully elucidated.
