摘要

Mycoplasma spp, which are rarely isolated from the lungs of clinically normal dogs, are consistently associated with both microscopic and gross lesions in the lungs of dogs with pneumonia. Various species of Mycoplasma may be part of the normal pharyngeal flora, hence pathogenic potential exists for aspiration of Mycoplasma organisms into the alveoli. Relatively few cases of Mycoplasma pneumonia in dogs have been reported, possibly because of the difficulties associated with Mycoplasma isolation. Toevaluate the differences in clinical signs, diagnostic findings, and clinical outcome between dogs with Mycoplasma pneumonia and dogs with other bacterial pneumonia, the case records of 93 dogs with bacterial pneumonia diagnosed by organism isolation after transtracheal aspiration were examined.
