摘要

When glaucoma occurs in cats, it usually results from chronic idiopathic lymphocytic, plasmo-cytic uveitis, or diffuse iris melanoma. Congenital glaucoma in humans can be either secondary or primary, but there have been only anecdotal reports of congenital glaucoma in cats. Iridoschisis—a degenerative process characterized by cleavage of the iris layers that is associated with glaucoma—has not been reported in animals. A Siamese kitten with congenital glaucoma and iridoschi-sis was reported. Male Siamese kitten, 5 months, had a history of dilated pupils since birth. He had moderate symmetrical enlargement of both globes and intraocular pressures of 23 mm. Congenital glaucoma was diagnosed. The animal did not respond to pi-locarpine treatment, andbilateral enucle-ation was performed for cosmetic reasons.
