摘要

Gastrointestinal linear foreign bodies (LFBs) are relatively common findings in cats. In dogs, LFBs are more rare and may be associated with a higher degree of bowel trauma and a higher mortality rate than what is seen in afflicted cats. The presentation, clinical signs, description, and treatment of LFBs in dogs were examined and compared with similar available data for feline LFBs. The medical records of 32 dogs treated for confirmed LFBs between 1980 and 1991 at a single institution were reviewed.
