Using 100V line transformers as valve output transformers

Since publication of the Curra-wong amplifier in the October 2014 and following issues of Silicon Chip, there has been renewed interest in valve amplifiers. 100V line transformers are designed for PA amplifiers which do not have valve output stages but relatively low impedance transistor output stages. While the Al-tronics Ml 115 100V line transformer was successfully used in the Cur-rawong, not all 100V line transformers are suitable for valve work.
