Wireless door chime repeater

There are lots of situations where the standard domestic front door bell can't be heard by the home's occupants. You might be in the garden, in the shed or you might have a hearing problem. This Wireless Door Chime Repeater uses a bridge rectifier connected across an existing low-voltage door chime and each time the doorbell switch is pressed, the AC voltage across the Door Chime solenoid drives the bridge rectifier and the LED inside an optocoupler to trigger one or more wireless door chimes. These units can be located as required or carried around by the resident if they have a hearing problem.
