Capital Refractories manufactures a range of gas diffuser products for the hot metal treatment industries at its factory at Senov, near Ostrava, Czech Republic. Gas diffusers - more commonly known as 'porous plugs' have been around since the 1970s but over time have, by virtue of better material selection and production techniques, become more sophisticated with vast improvement in performance and reliability. Gas Diffusers are designed to produce a high volume of small bubbles which presents a large surface area of contact between gas and liquid metal. Gas Diffusers in metallurgical vessels must meet the following demands; operational safety, reliable stirring performance at high and low gas flow rates, and high wear resistance at high temperatures.
