The one day seminar on quality and safety in food and water was held at conference hall, CEPCI, Cashew Bhavan, Mundakkal, Kollam on 28th February, 2015. As the National Science Day is celeberated on 28th February, it was decided to hold the programmeon the same day as it would be useful to the general public also.The programme started with registration of participants. The participants comprising of more than 50 members including general public, Hotel owners, Food processors, Food inspectors and Health inspectors. They were welcomed by Smt C.B. Mayarani, HOD Microbiology Division. She briefed the technologies and high end instruments available in CEPCI laboratory. She informed about the change in the mandate of the laboratory and said that its services are opened for all food samples, water and water used for cooking purposes, fish, meat, oil, fats and any material for analysis.
