Status epilepticus (SE) remains a significant cause of morbidity and mortality in the pediatric age group. Advances in the diagnosis and treatment have improved over the past decades, but some patients continue to have poor outcomes or experience a delay in treatment. Many of the current well-designed treatment trials are performed in adult patients, and it is not always clear what the best treatment for pediatric status epilepticus entails.
