The Cuculliinae of Israel (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

The distribution within Israel and the time of flight of the 51 species of Cuculliinae (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) are reported. Eleven of them are new for fauna of Israel. Six species are known only from old records, or found in old collections. Most ofspecies are rare, local, flying only once a year during 2 - 4 weeks in early spring, and are attracted to light after midnight. The bulk of the species has Eremic and Palearctic range of distribution. The highest numbers of species inhabit different biotopes of Negev. Four species are restricted to the Levant and are eremic endemics.
