The problem of dust and fume control has become an important issue within the health and safety strategy of any foundry. If not properly addressed, the issue of dust and fume can return to haunt a company years later with costly litigation being the result of a company's negligence. It is therefore important that companies focus on the health and safety benefits that any dust or fume control system will bring to a company both presently ensuring that the company complies with legislation now, as well as in the long term by ensuring that it protects itself against costly litigation in the future. For example, an installation carried out for a UK valve manufacturing company by Dust Extraction (International) Ltd involved the design, supply and installation of three different types of dust extraction systems of varying sizes and designs, together with four oil mist units.
