The US Dollar Retains Impact Despite Weakness

The U.S. dollar has depreciated in trade-weighted terms by as much as 11.5 per cent over the past six months against the yen, the euro, the Canadian dollar as well as the Australian and New Zealand dollars. Though not for the first time, the dollar'sweakness has raised concerns. For a global economy slowly emerging from a deep seated crisis, the sharp decline of the dollar in relation to other major currencies is not good news at all. If the dollar falls further precipitously it may choke off the nascent recovery.
