Today, people are more health conscious than they probably were a decade ago, but in our quest to gather information we may get misguided through inappropriate sources. Due to which, a section of our society is unaware of the health benefits of cashewkernels. Hence the industry has to make special efforts to educate the public about the nutritional value of cashew kernels, to avoid the perception that cashewnuts being "cholesterol free" is just a marketing gimmick. Initially cashewnuts were thoughtto be "high protein, high fat food that is to be avoided except for in small quantities". However the light of current research with epidemiological studies and clinical trials, cashewnuts are being given a new fresh look of being health food.
