hp-interpolation of nonsmooth functions and an application to hp-a posteriori error estimation

The quasi-interpolation operators of Clement and Scott-Zhang type are generalized to the setting of the hp-FEM (finite element method). New polynomial lifting and inverse estimates are presented. The classical residual based a posteriori error estimator is generalized to the hp-FEM.
