The development of green technology turns membrane conferences to the most attractive meetings. The Membrane Science and Technology Conference of the Visegrad Countries, PERMEA, belongs to that events. The first PERMEA 2003 has shown the helpfulness for those who are involved in membrane manufacturing and/or applications. The second in series PERMEA 2005 Conference was focused on the effect of membrane technology to human life. The one more issue of the conference should be mentioned here-young membrane researchers and PhD students dominated among the participants. The conference was attended by 160 delegates from 23 countries. Nine technical and two poster sessions took place over the 4-days courses. They comprised 55 oral and 102 posters presentations. All sessions were carried out in the same place that gave the opportunity for fruitful discussions "behind-the-scene".
