Cosma International to acquire aluminium die casting plants from BDW

Cosma International, an operating unit of automotive supplier Magna International, has an agreement to acquire four aluminium die casting operations in Central Europe from BDW Technologies.The plants that Cosma is buying are in Markt-Schwaben and Soest, Germany, and Kedzierzyn-Kozle, Poland, all of which produce aluminium castings; and Szekesfehervar, Hungary, which fabricates aluminium automotive and structural parts.Cosma indicated the new plants would expand its capacity for producing structural aluminium die castings.The acquisition, which expected to close in the first quarter of 2012, expands and complements Cosma's ability to produce lightweight structural and chassis components by adding thin-wall aluminium casting capacity.
