Properties of new Mg alloy MRI-3 for designing components submit-ted to special events, misuse and cyclic loading

摘要

Light-weight design concepts play a crucial role in automobile manufacture as a means of reducing fuel consumption and, thus, pollutant emissions. Magnesium, the lightest known metallic structural material, affords a contribution in this regard, even if nearly always in the form of vehicle interior components to date.
