Double-Layered Light Shutter using Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals and Dye-Doped Cholesteric Liquid Crystals

摘要

We propose a double-layered light shutter using polymer-dispersed liquid crystal and dye-doped cholesteric liquid crystal layers. The proposed light shutter use light absorption, backscattering, and forward scattering so that it has a very low transmittance to block the objects behind a display panel in the opaque state.
