摘要

A Liquid crystal lens with tunable focus is a good candidate for optical correction in 3-D displays. In this paper, we aim to compare the optical performance of a liquid crystal diffractive lens with a refractive lens for the effect of incident wavelength variations from the design values. Based on our simulation results, the designed refractive lens has a better optical performance than the designed diffractive lens, however the response time is slower. Specifically, the, response time, tunable range, electrode designs, and optical efficiency are discussed.
