摘要

Effect of liquid extracts of Gracilaria verrucosa and Chaetomorpha linum from Chilika lake on vegetative growth and yield of Phaseolus mungo, Solanum melongena and Lycopersicon esculentum was studied. SLF (1%, w/v) was applied as foliar spray five times during the crop cycle. Height of plant, leaf number, flower number, fruit (pod) number, dry weight of shoot and root increased in the SLF treatment over control. The yield (pod number) of Phaseolus mungo increased to 26.6 and 9.8% upon treatment of SLF of C. linum and G. verrucosa respectively. Vegetative growth of Solanum melongena as well as L. esculentum was also higher and the period of flowering and fruiting of these two crop plants enhanced upon SLF treatment in comparison to control. SLF of C. linum was more effective than the same concentration of extracts prepared from G. verrucosa.
