Audiometric Calibration: Speech Signals

摘要

Speech audiometry is used primarily for determining anindividual's receptive auditory communication abilities. Speech also isused for site-of-lesion testing. The speech signal is temporally andspectrally complex, and there are unique challenges in acousticallycharacterizing speech signals. This article describes some of thesechallenges and details the international standards developed to specifythe requirements for these characterizations and to perform reliable testprotocols and measurements.
