Nanotechnology now pervades almost all disciplines in the natural sciences and revolutionary new aspects are anticipated. It has become an interdisciplinary field of research and work.The tasks range from the classical fields, such as semiconductor technology and material sciences, to the fields of chemistry, biology through to medicine. Dr. Charles M. Lieber is a professor of chemistry at Harvard and one of the leading researchers in nanotechnology. BlOforum Europe spoke to him about his research work, its applications and the future prospects for nanotechnology.
